The Economics of Biodiversity, Royal Geographical Society

London, Sept 2025

The Economics of Biodiversity coordination meeting, held at the Royal Geographical Society in London on 16–17 September 2025, brought together all research teams funded under the Biodiversity Economics programme by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). The BIOADD team contributed three presentations: “Accounting for additionality in the presence of deforestation and regrowth”, “Forest conservation policy, additionality, and socio-environmental implications”, and “Conservation strategies in contested environments”, each highlighting different dimensions of our work on forest dynamics and conservation policy in South America. The meeting provided an enriching opportunity to exchange ideas across disciplines and projects, fostering collaboration on the economic, social, and ecological dimensions of biodiversity conservation.
