Efficient Climate Policies in an Uncertain World
College de France, Paris, 8 June 2022
There is a strong scientific consensus among economists to recommend applying the polluter pays principle on CO2 emissions, without exemption. On the other hand, there is no consensus on the level of carbon price to impose to align the interests of polluters with the general interest. In this conference, various world-renowned experts on this subject will express their analysis. Most of this work suggests a carbon price much higher than estimates from integrated climate/economy models of the last twenty years.
Including a presentation from Ben Groom on “The social value of offsets”, see recording here.
